Q&A: Hypothetical Question Here: If Men Who Likes and Has a Hard Wired Need for “Gender Variant”?

Question by john b: Hypothetical question here: If men who likes and has a hard wired need for “gender variant”?
dressing ie “crossdressing” suddenly could do it out in public whenever they wanted because society no longer had taboos governing gender norms (which are random and senseless when taken to the extreme, btw and it isn’t the real reason you can wear whatever you want IMO) and they no longer feared the loss of marriages, kids, jobs, status, income, or reputation (this is the biggie because life can be much more difficult based on hateful and ignorant responses to the male CD rather than actual CDing itself.) I’m not saying that I think all men should wear dresses and the like because 90% of them would HATE IT WITH A PASSION, but I am posing a scenerio where the 10% of men who like and “need” to do it ( based on statistics look it up and learn if you don’t believe me) to where it borders on “addiction” could do it freely, whenever they wanted, without the fear of massive life changing reprisals. In this blissfully tolerant scenerio for the male CD would the “addiction” lesson considerably (still has the addictive quality) because society accepts and tolerates? Is that what makes the addiction unbearable sometimes? because it’s taboo? Trying to find someone who accepts in this society can be hard I’d imagine. Crossdressing mirrors the addiction response like with drugs, but it is more harmless and can’t kill you physically (unless you kill yourself because you can’t accept it- not into legalizing drugs for that reason.) If crossdressing was legal where the male CD could be in female attire whenever instead of hiding it and going long periods without doing it, then would the “addiction” decrease? How much if yes? Drastically? If no, then why not? Both gendes can answer although it would be nice to have a first hand opinion on this…What do you think? (Intelligent and thoughtful answers please- you can disagree, but do it respectfully. Any “stupid” answers will be reported…thank you.)

Okay, I agree with you that 10% of men have their brains hard-wired such that cross-dressing gives them sensations of pleasure. However most of these men consider it a problem, and not just because of society stigma.

Most people want to feel as if they are in control of their lives. They do NOT want their lives controlled by their addiction. They want to focus on more important things in their life. Cross-dressing can be an expensive and debilitating hobby.

The way how a fetish addiction works, is that if you do the same thing over and over then your brain will release less and less neurotransmitters (reward stimulus). So in order to feel the same rush of pleasure you continually need to push the envelope and go further and further with your cross-dressing. That’s why some men go all out, even taking feminizing hormones to feel more and look more feminine.

So if a man wants to be happy being a man, then he needs to place limits on his cross-dressing fetish. He needs to respect and honor his own masculine side.

Another problem: In the cross-dressing fetish, the brain interprets cross-dressing as if there was actual contact with a female. The object (clothing) becomes a substitute for human intimacy. This substitution results in poor social skills and a poor self-esteem.

Another problem: Even with the removal of social stigma, women will still have a biological need for a man. She will need to be held and loved by a man (unless she is a lesbian). She will need a man she can respect and honor. If the man looks and dresses like a woman, it makes for problems.

So, even though 10% of normal, healthy, heterosexual men find pleasure in cross-dressing, most of them will decide to pass up on its pleasures. They will limit their cross-dressing and keep it private, because they have other issues in their lives that are more important.
