What Do You Understand by the Term “Dual Diagnosis?”?

Question by studyingmom: what do you understand by the term “Dual diagnosis?”?
I am currently studying, and need to do a survey on dual diagnosis. I shall appreicate if anyone can give me their honest opinion of what they think it means… not what you search on the net…

A dual diagnosis is usually when a person is mentally ill and has an addiction to drugs and alcohol.
