Learning to Live Drug Free: New Book Describes How One Man’s Life Experience Is Leading Others Out of Addiction
Denver, CO (PRWEB) January 23, 2006
“Enough Already” educates alcoholics and addicts on precisely what to do to get sober and stay sober. It introduces readers to relapse prevention strategies; the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and other 12-step programs; shows them how to deal with the uncomfortable emotions that often lead to drug use; and provides practical, viable ways to begin walking that road to recovery.
Author Bob Tyler: “When alcoholics and drug addicts reach out for help by calling chemical dependence treatment centers, many are disillusioned with the high cost of such treatment. If they have inadequate insurance coverage or cannot otherwise afford it, they are referred to county- funded programs, which often lack availability.” Such “empty” referrals gave Tyler the impetus to create Enough Already! — an effective resource guide for referring agents, i.e., alcohol and drug counselors, detoxification facilities, therapists, employee assistant counselors, doctors, and hotline operators.
As an accomplished speaker, Tyler has spent years reaching out to the addicted and their families in communities nationwide. After seventeen years of sobriety and fifteen years working in the field of chemical dependency, he brings his valuable experiences to light in Enough Already through candid self-disclosure.
Tyler is the Director of Operations at Twin Town Treatment Centers, through which he oversees four Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program sites for adults and adolescents. He is also on the faculty at Loyola Marymount University Extension’s Alcohol and Drug Studies Program. Tyler earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and is certified by the California Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (CAADAC). He is currently CAADAC’s President-Elect and will take office in January of 2007.
Enough Already! is currently in use as a textbook for Alcohol and Drug Studies programs at InterCoast Colleges (all five campuses); Loyola Marymount University Extension; Training Institute for Addiction Counselors; Institute of Chemical Dependency Studies (2 campuses); and the US Navy program in San Diego. It is also being utilized as a text in treatment centers for patients struggling with specific areas of recovery.
