The Granite House was previously restricted to patients with drug and alcohol addictions who had been recommended by treatment providers. Director Eric Spofford is no stranger to substance abuse. Starting at an early age, Mr. Spofford’s abuse started with marijuana and alcohol use, which later escalated to club drugs and painkillers. It took another turn for the worse when he began using heroin and cocaine. Spofford, however, was able to recover from this personal hell and redeem himself. After treatment, he made it his personal mission to motivate others to fight their addictions and turn around their lives for the better.

It is my personal belief that a sober living environment is one of the most effective programs there is for the recovering addict.”
