They’re going to “reformulate” what is an illegal drug so that all the real life-related problems that people have who are diagnosed with clinical depression (often just as much the cause of depression as any so-called chemical imbalance) can just go away. When are they going to stop their own madness?
Andrea: Mistake to “answer” this question from a pro-pharmaceutical company perspective. And you’re exaggerating to say “People with Bipolar commit suicide all the time.” Plus, what’s the point of getting people high from a drug like special K (“reformulated”) if THIS is the only way they won’t commit suicide? Moreover, to say that because some people commit suicide after they’ve been diagnosed with a mood disorder doesn’t justify why some new “magic” pill (as the article calls it) should become mainstream with the majority of patients put on the drug indefinitely for some “maintenance” dosage, which I am sure they are after. Big Pharma knows that the term anti-depressant is getting a bad rap. Solution? We’ll “reformulate” illegal drugs like special K and give this first to rats, show efficacy in a double blind study with humans, then get FDA approval and screw with humans. It will do more harm than help, even for those at risk for suicide. Suicidality is CAUSED by drugs.
Andrea: I missed that part about you saying you are taking some “new” drug that (currently) you claim is making you sane. Come on. You’re obviously biased toward a pro-drug treatment perspective. My guess is you’ve never tried anything except drugs for your mood disorder because a) you were told by psychiatrists it’s 100% a brain chemical imbalance, and b) you want to believe them. Please, read what biodeterminism is before you leave any more replies.

This world is a mess! Its like them still not finding a cure for cancer, yet we spend billions every year on what? People to sit around? Most of these meds need to be forgotten, there a joke with so many side effects to kill!
