TWIN TOWERS FUND CHOOSES RUSSELL BEDFORD MEMBER FIRM OPI to OUTSOURCE ITS ACCOUNTING FUNCTIONS
(PRWEB) December 20, 2002
Outsource Partners International (OPI), one of the US members of the Russell Bedford network of CPA firms, has announced its commitment to assist the Twin Towers Fund (TTF) in maintaining its financial accounting records and ensuring the proper disbursement of funds to the families of the uniformed service members who lost their lives in the September 11th World Trade Center attack. OPI has assisted TTF in the installation of an appropriate accounting system and it is currently handling the accounting functions for TTF.
“On behalf of the Twin Towers Fund, I want to thank OPI for its dedicated and diligent work on a pro-bono basis,” said Larry Levy, President of the Twin Towers Fund. “We are grateful for all that OPI has done to make this operation as smooth as possible.”
The Twin Towers Fund was established by former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani to assist, support and recognize the families of the members of the uniformed services of New York Fire, EMS, Police, Port Authority and other government offices who lost their lives or were seriously injured because of the tragedies of 9/11 at the World Trade Center. The TTF continues its operations to raise money in order to ensure that it is able to meet the long-term financial needs of the families, including education, retirement, medical and counseling. Thus far, the Fund has distributed more than USD 155,000,000.
“The courageous actions and selflessness of our uniformed service heroes will always be remembered,” said Clarence Schmitz, Chairman and CEO of OPI. “We are proud to ensure that all the necessary resources are placed at the disposal of TTF, to enable the quick and proper dispersal of the funds to the family members of the uniformed service that lost their lives in the tragic event, as well as to provide an accurate accounting history of these disbursements.”
“We at OPI are honored to be chosen as the outsourcing provider of choice and to have the opportunity to contribute our talent and strength to this cause,” adds Kishore Mirchandani, President of OPI.
