Jazz for Peace Benefit Concert for Drug Abuse Pevention
Jazz for Peace Benefit Concert for Drug Abuse Pevention
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) July 18, 2006
On September 29th the jazz ensemble, Jazz for Peace will perform a benefit concert for INPSIREHealth.org and the Run Drugs Out of Town Run. All proceeds from the sale of tickets will go toward drug abuse prevention efforts in area schools. Proceeds from the sale of CD’s will go to purchase musical instruments for underprivileged children.
Jazz for Peace led by Rick DellaRatta who was recently honored as one of the greatest jazz vocalists of all time in Scott Yanow’s book, “Jazz Singers”. Annoyed with the contention that it was impossible for Palestinians and Israelis to get together at the peace table, DellaRatta begged to differ as he knew he could get Palestinians, Arabs, Israelis and Americans together in the same room at any time to play jazz. If they could do that they could do anything.
The group first did a benefit concert at the United Nations and was so well received they have continued to do concerts for non-profit organizations across America. Proceeds will allow us to give the Run Drugs Out of Town Run to elementary schools and the Relay4Us to middle and high schools to raise awareness of drug abuse prevention and so students can raise money for what they need at their campus. Other groups across the valley that work with drug abuse prevention will also benefit.
