Rwanda’s Genocide Leaves a Legacy of Drug Abuse

Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) April 16, 2004

The 1994 genocide in Rwanda was not only one of the worst atrocities of the last century, but has resulted in a dramatic increase in alcoholism and other drug abuse among adolescents. Millions of children lost one or both parents when 800,000 people were butchered in the course of 100 days. Ten years after the slaughter, a generation of orphans is seeking relief from their pain through substance abuse.

“Just Pray NO!” Ltd. is a non-profit organization based in the United States and is devoted to alcoholism and drug abuse prevention and rehabilitation. This organization is partnering with “Living Word Ministries” in Kigali Rwanda to reach those bound by substance abuse. Four fourteen year “Just Pray NO!” has sought to unite Christians from around the world in intercessory prayer on behalf of the addicted and their families.

The weekend of April 17th – 18th, 2004 has been designated as the 14th Annual “Just Pray NO!” to drugs Worldwide Weekend of Prayer and Fasting.
