Wellness Luncheon to Address Impact on Bottom Line
FORT WORTH, TX (PRWEB) April 8, 2004 –
Â? Small businesses in Tarrant County are invited to learn how health promotion programs can benefit their bottom line at the Wellness Pays Luncheon on Friday, April 9.
The Small Business Wellness Initiative will host the complimentary luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Tarrant Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse, located at 1701 W. Freeway in Fort Worth. The initiative, a community collaborative project funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, will also discuss the results of a research study on the effectiveness of health promotion and wellness programs conducted in small businesses in Tarrant County.
Any business interested in learning how health promotion and wellness programs affect their bottom line is invited to attend the luncheon. For more information or to RSVP for the luncheon, please contact Roxanne Martinez at (817) 332-6329 ext. 240.
Research studies suggest that, for every dollar invested in health promotion, a company saves $ 3 to $ 5 in health and safety costs, according to Kelly Heath, project director of the Small Business Wellness Initiative.
Â?Businesses that invest in employee health and wellness reap the financial rewards through savings on health care costs, disability pay, absenteeism, employee turnover and safety problems,Â? Heath said.
