Have Fun and Stay Sober
San Bernardino, CA (PRWEB) September 30, 2006
The Sober Living Coalition will host a fund-raising picnic Saturday, Oct. 14 at San Bernardino Little Field Park, 2599 Kendall Way, from noon to 5 p.m.
“The picnic is designed for those who are recovering from a drug or alcohol addiction,” said Cleo Smith, CEO of Miracles in Recovery, one of the agencies making up the Sober Living Coalition. “Once you come out of an addiction, it is often hard to find social activities free from the old temptations of alcohol and drugs. This picnic is a way for recovering addicts to have a good time and not worry about slipping back into their old ways.”
Activities begin at noon with an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. An all-you-can-eat barbecue begins at 2 p.m. and continues until 5 p.m. From 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. the band Fourcast will entertain, and there will be dancing.
Tickets are $ 5. Owners of Sober Living group homes (also known as transitional living homes) can buy blocks of tickets at $ 3 each.
