11-16-2010 Part 3 – Planning Board Shelter Guidelines Continuation
This is an annotated version of the official video from the town of Chapel Hill. The audio and video are unchanged, though they have been cut into individual segments given the youtube length limits. The Planning Board of the Town of Chapel Hill does not care about neighborhood, school or park safety. It does not care about locating all of the homeless shelters and drug detox centers into one-fifth of a square mile in a 400 square mile county. On 11/2/2010 and 11/16/2010, the planning board met to discuss very watered down and totally ineffective guidelines. These guidelines allow an unlimited number of homeless shelters with an unlimited density to be built in the Homestead Road area. For other issues with the guidelines, see abettersite.org
