Would Marijuana No Longer Be a “Gateway Drug” if Legalized and Removed From the Criminal Environment?
Question by Chi Guy: Would marijuana no longer be a “gateway drug” if legalized and removed from the criminal environment?
My impression is when people call marijuana a gateway drug to stronger drugs, it is because drug dealers “push” heavier drugs on their buyers to sell a more addictive product.
If marijuana was taken out of the hands of drug dealers, would they no longer have the same acces to people to talk them into trying something that is truly addictive unlike marijuana?
BTW I have never smoked anything and hopefully never will.

No it still would be a gateway drug.
MJ is a psychotropic drug and mild hallucinogen, unlike booze.
