Crack Abuse: Should/can This Be Reported? (A Y!a Question That May Be a Real Confession to a Potential Crime)?
Question by joules143: Should/can this be reported? (A Y!A question that may be a real confession to a potential crime)?
A young man or woman has confessed to possibly being responsible for a recent vehicle crash, one that sent two people to intensive care. When I first answered the question, I was ready to move on, then he/she began “adding details,” responding to me. In the last detail he/she left, he/she fessed that throwing something off of the bridge before the crash, wasn’t exactly an accident at all.
I asked what really happened. No further response.
My question is: Is this reportable? I understand that this might just be a case of trolling, but what if it isn’t? Can the Y!A team reveal to authorities the identity of a user in such a case? I’m not sure how long his/her question will be available, but here’s the link. Please don’t get trigger-happy with the “report abuse” button, for if the question disappears, so does the “confession.”

A little advice please?
If his question is genuine, so far it can be derived that:
1) The accident supposedly appeared in a newspaper on the 23rd of April, 2010
2) Two people were sent to intensive care
3) The car crashed into a metal divider
4) There was a bridge, with two people (most likely teens) who dropped something into the road (a lighter, maybe cherry bombs), a dual carriageway
5) They were experimenting with crack
I’m temporarily making my Q&A’s invisible
Thanks sven, but what exactly do you mean by “london coppers?” Is that the name of a site, or are you speaking of London police? American here; not sure what nationality the questioner is.
Okay, I see where you got London from now. The question was posted in the UK questions. But the kid said it appeared in the paper “today.” That means he’s either pulled an all-nighter, or “today” is the 24th. In the case of the latter, it seems highly unlikely he was having a conversation with his dad about the paper before the hour of 7 a.m. on a Saturday. So it might just be trolling. Or, he posted in the UK forum in order to distance himself from the crime. I just hope I’m not overthinking this. Which is why part of my question is “should” I even bother looking into it.
Thanks Bob B. That’s what I suspected, and is part of what I was looking to have answered. I appreciate the response.
