Chris’ Story

Chris came to Turning Point Centers in 2008. Chris starting using drugs and alcohol when he was 11-years-old. Over a 20-year period of drug and alcohol abuse that included marijuana, cocaine and smoking glass, Chris felt like he was a train-wreck. He couldn’t maintain a job, his family had disowned him, he was in and out of prison, and he was frequently homeless. Chris had been to drug and alcohol abuse treatment before, but had quickly relapsed back into his old habits. It wasn’t until Chris’ father said that he’ll pay for treatment or he’ll pay for a funeral, that it really hit home for Chris. Since his heroin and drug treatment, Chris has stayed sober, and is enjoying life in ways he didn’t think was possible. He has since become a father, has a new lease on life and he now works at Turning Point helping others break the cycle of drug and alcohol abuse.
