Why Is It Those That Dominate Altmed Section(“skeptics”) Take Offence to Reference of Drug Industry as Such?

Question by SkepCrock: Why is it those that dominate Altmed section(“skeptics”) take offence to reference of drug industry as such?
That is the “skeptics” of alternative medicine do not like like anyone referring to the drug business as an industry ?
Nate – You referred to critics of conventional medicine as conspiracy theorists. Is THAT not a tactic used by you and others of your ilk to dismiss opinions that don’t toe your party line ?
Nate – Here we have it folks, wolves in sheep’s clothing aping the lingo of bonafide skeptics ( strawman, cognitive dissonance, ad hominen etc ) . Nate, that you would actually dare to imply you would accept ( let alone personally make yourself ) some valid criticism of the drug industry is side splitting. Its kind of like hearing a Russian reporter from the old communist era impugning negative comments about the KGB. Laughing out loud.
Winston -its really funny how yourself and others suddenly come out of the woodwork once a “skeptic” is taken to task. You are using the aforementioned ad homenen assault to boot ! That would be too cynical of me to insinuate a skeptic might be employing some last resort alter ego to even the score.

I really don’t take it personally, so it’s not as if it is a personal insult.

When people get down to personal insults, I know they have hit the limits of their knowledge processing and/or emotional capabilities: children resort to name calling.

I think ‘Big Pharma’ and ‘Big Herba” have far more in common than many here would like to believe – and I write that as someone who worked in ‘Big Herba’ for quite sometime. Let’s face it, companies are in business to make money: profit and altruism make for awkward bed fellows.

Be well
