Abuse of Prescription Drugs by Young People at Epidemic Levels

The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey (PDFNJ) recently released the results of a statewide survey that shows about eight in 10 parents believe kids get prescription and over-the-counter drugs that they abuse from medicine cabinets in their homes or their friends’ homes. PDFNJ Executive Director Angelo Valente told NJ Today Senior Correspondent Desiree Taylor that the survey shows parents are beginning to recognize the issue of prescription drug abuse and have begun taking steps to prevent it.
