How Are People Still Unaware That “marijuana” and “hemp” Are the Same Plant?
Question by Who is Danger Woman?: How are people still unaware that “marijuana” and “hemp” are the same plant?
They are both Cannabis sativa, though Cannabis indica is smokable but doesn’t qualify as hemp. Why do people insist that there is a difference when there obviously isn’t one. Even that anti-“drug” site, not abovetheinfluence, but the other one calls it by the name that it was originally known by, indian hemp.

Hello, hemp is cannabis sattiva but genetically modified and/or bred so it doesnt have the same amount of cannibanoids. Basically, you cant get high off of hemp.
Cannabis ruderalis, the little known third strain, also does not qualify.
You shouldnt use the term marajuana. Its the mexican word for Cannabis used by the American government to coerce the american people into associating cannabis with “dirty mexican immigrants” so that the transition to class whatever narcotics was easier in the eyes of the public. All propaganda you see.
So there is a difference, its just a chemically/genetically one. Real hemp wont get you high.
Also, weed isnt hemp either because technically weed is the buds of the plant and not thefibres (hemp)
People dont want to associate hemp with any narcotics because that just wouldnt do would it… “im not having any association with those dirty drugs” (upturned nose)
Fuel can be made from hemp, as can biodegradable plastic, and yet the government wont harness this environmental power. Its a crying shame, and why? For the sake illegality.
