Methadone? money for the goverment or really to help drug addicts? or what ever you think of it

Well, I think at one time Methadone had it’s purpose, but today this drug is out on the street and kids are abusing it.
There are so many other alternatives anyway for drug addicts to get off their “head change” habits, that Methadone has become nothing more than another addiction.
Where I am from, you have to pay for it anyway, where a while ago, it was supplied at no cost or very little anyway.
The government benefits from almost everything, and I don’t doubt they are making a pretty penny in “helping” addicts.
