Would You Consider an Adolescent Whom Had Used IV Drugs Multiple Times to Need Rehab?

I know a 14-year-old who has recently stopped using IV drugs after a two to three week drug binge. The person she was doing it with was put into rehab and detox. However, the adolescent’s mother thinks she is wanting to go to rehab for attention. What actions do you recommend taking? Is rehab for her worth it even if it costs $1,500?
