I am currently applying for a job at a local rehab facility for children, adolescents, and adults. It deals with people with emotional, physical, drug, behavioral, issues.
On the application they ask the following question:
“Are you willing to take a pre-employment physical exam including a test for current use of illegal drugs upon being offered a job at this facility? yes no”
Now, I am not saying that I use drugs or anything, but lets say I check no, could that potentially hurt my chances of getting an interview? I am just making sure that I check the right answer because I really need a job desperately and I will comply with these tests if necessary.
I don’t want to check “no” and have them reject me because of it. But I do also believe in personal privacy so I am tempted to say no… but if it would hurt my chances than of course I will check “yes.”
Thanks guys! I checked yes just in case because I don’t want to ruin my chances. I understand that it is important to be clean in this field of work so of course I’m going to do everything I can to increase my chances of getting the job. I am just applying for anything I can get right now since I don’t have previous experience but I do have a Bachelor’s in Psych, so hopefully that will help me out since a lot of the positions that I could apply for only require a high school dipoma (or equivalent) and/or some college experience. I’m already a graduate so hopefully that will help.
