Okay So When Is the Government Going to Actually Realize the War on Drugs Doesn’t Work?

I heard we spend about 20 billion dollars a year for the war on drugs. Why do we still even have this? We send people to jail all because they smoked crack. Isn’t that a problem? Are we handling that person the wrong way? If the government really wants to lesson the drug use by American citizens then first of all don’t send them to prison. Send them to a rehabilitation center. Also set up free rehab centers. So that then if people really want to try to get off the drugs then they have some where to go to to get the help they need. Also we should seriously legalize Marijuana. No one has ever over dosed on pot, but yet people die of alcohol poisoning everyday. If anything Marijuana is just like alcohol except you can’t die from smoking too much. Also think about all of the medical uses for marijuana. My aunt would probably not even be here if she didn’t smoke pot when she had cancer. When she had to go through chemo she wouldn’t eat as much and be in pain and made her not even wanting to do it any more. making her really consider just dying, but my uncle gave her marijuana and because of that she was able to go through chemo. Please tell me why it’s still illegal and why we are sending people to prison just for the possession of marijuana? If we legalized it crime would go down because there are drug gangs out there where there only drug they sell is marijuana. Also sure people die because of marijuana, but not because they smoked it, but because of the drug dealers out there that kill them if they suspect them as being a rat. the war on drugs is a joke and we need to legalize at least marijuana. I think we should just legalize everything since the drug gangs would leave since well drugs are legal and the government could regulate it and again give people the chance to change their life by making free rehab centers. give me your thoughts and I think I should say this.

I have never smoked a cigarette, I have never smoked a joint, I have never had a beer, I have never done any drugs except of course Tylenol when I get a head ache. All of what you read is coming from someone that is straight edged.

Someone that has and never will do drugs wants drugs to be legal.
