Addict Learns to Repair Relationship With Son Thanks to Narconon Drug Rehab

Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) January 27, 2010

One of the most important things for the future of our society is the positive upbringing of children. Children need the love and help of parents and family to really make it. And those children who have parents or family members who are struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction can have an especially difficult time.

Bobby N. is one person who has had personal experience with addiction and it’s affects on the family. He was addicted to drugs for more than 20 years before going into treatment. “[When I was using drugs] I would not see my son for months and when I did I was always using, although he did not know it at the time. Sometimes I would fall asleep after being up for days and he could not wake me up and would get scared, eventually he got to where he did want to come over,” he explains in a recent interview.

With the help of his family, Bobby enrolled in the Narconon program where he was finally able to handle his drug addiction for good. During his treatment he was able to do many courses that helped him to regain control of his life but there was one course in-particular that really helped him to get back onto the road to survival.

This course was called The Way To Happiness and in it he found some key information that aided him in repairing his relationship with his own child. This was one precept in the book called, “Love and Help Children.” From the information in this book along with the rest of the Narconon program Bobby was able to mend his relationship with his son and even became a drug prevention lecturer to help other children. “The precept, “Love and Help Children” is one the biggest reasons I do what I do now, because I wanted to make the world as safe as possible for my son,” he says.

The Way To Happiness is a common sense guide to moral living that has been used as a key part of Narconon drug treatment for decades. Narconon is a long-term residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that has been helping to rehabilitate addicts and rebuild families since 1966. The organization currently operates more than 150 centers in 50 different countries and achieves a more than 70% success rate for permanent recovery from substance abuse.

Today Bobby’s relationship with his son is stronger than ever. “Today my son and I get along well and I can honestly say I we are very, very close almost as friend s but at the same time it is responsibility to set an example for him and be there for him as a guiding light,” says Bobby.

“When I went through the Narconon program the precepts on the way to happiness literally drove in the responsibilities I have to my son and family and I cannot imagine living the life insanity I once lived,” he adds.
