Alcoholism Resources Center Opens
Portland, OR (PRWEB) November 12, 2006
AlcoholismResources.com launches an online library, alcohol rehab finder, and more to assist alcoholics and the employers and families of alcoholics.
Alcoholism Resources was created by David Westbrook, MS., for individuals who suffer from the disease of alcoholism or whose lives are impacted by someone who needs alcohol rehab. Westbrook served as the Director of the Alcohol and Drug HelpLine of Oregon for nearly a decade. His work in this capacity brought him into contact with thousands of alcoholics, their families and those connected to them.
The realization that many people were turning to the internet to find information on alcoholism and alcohol rehab lead Westbrook to put together a team to build a one stop site for help.
About building an online center Westbrook said, “We’ve understood from the beginning that are a variety of problems for individuals seeking information on alcoholism and its treatment.” He went on to say, “One of the most frequently sited reason for individuals who need treatment not seeking it is the stigma that surrounds this issue. People want to get information in the privacy of their own homes, and many do not want access government related sties for this information.”
Through AlcoholismResources individuals have one stop where they can go for all their informational needs. An extensive online library can be accessed at, http://www.alcoholismresources.com/Library/catalogue.html. Meanwhile individuals looking for treatment can easily find all the treatment centers in their city and state by going to, http://www.alcoholismresources.com/alcoholism_treatment_facilities.html.
There is also an online screening tool, product finder (books, dvds and more) and an FAQ section as well as a whole lot more.
About the cost of using this site Westbrook says, “One of the best things about Alcoholism Resources is that it’s completely free.
