Antidepression Medication, Does It Work?

Question by srenee: Antidepression medication, does it work?
I have not been diagnosed with being depressed (NOT YET ANYWAY) but i no deep in my heart i am. I am a mom and wife and right now my marriage is hanging by threads. I am having a hard time trying to forgive him because he has done things to make me lose my trust in him. He is in counseling for his problems and somewhat trying to make things right between us but i always feel the need to check behind everything he does, and it is killing me. I can’t hardly sleep, i over eat on occasions and sometimes don’t eat. I am very moody at times and it shows to my kids. I just want to stay in bed sometimes and just not do a damn thing. But i can’t, my kids need me. I just need to no if i tell my doctor about what i think is depression, and if he suggest medication, should i reject it or if it will help me get myself together. I am just trying to be happy again for my kids and for myself. Cause if this marriage falls apart, i want to be strong enough to handle it without losing my mind.

it works for most but must be ordered and controlled by a doctor – preferably a psychiatrist sometimes you may be lucky and get it on the first med sometimes you may have to go thru two or three before the right one works but give it a try
your life and family is worth it

No doubt that you should try the medicine. You may only be on it for a little while but it will help you out greatly. I have been on my medicine for a long time and I can not believe how much things have changed since I began taking it. It really was a life saver. I can think straight and get things done. They may have to try a couple of different ones, and remember, it takes a few weeks for it to fully work, but I think it would really help you out. Good luck with everything!
