In working with clients at Focal Point Professional Services in Daphne, AL, Warren emphasizes the family. She says, “Although only one family member may be symptomatic, the entire family affects—and is affected by—the problem, so I involve every family member. I conduct individual and group counseling, and sometimes I visit homes to observe interactions in the family environment. These methods provide insight into the problem’s root and solution.”
In addition to marriage and family counseling, Warren conducts substance abuse counseling, specializing in opioid addiction. She has national and state drug addiction certification, so families who suspect a problem can take the first step toward treatment. Warren partners with physicians who write prescriptions for suboxone, an FDA-approved treatment for opioid dependence. SUBOXONE has been shown to be more effective than methadone, helping addicts become drug-free, whereas methadone sometimes causes methadone dependence. Warren says, “By combining suboxone with individual and group counseling, opioid addicts often realize success and lead full and happy lives.”
Warren is completing her Ph.D. in Family Therapy at Regions University in Montgomery, AL, and is available to the media as an expert on marriage, family, and substance abuse counseling.
