Can Anxiety Disorders Be Beaten WITHOUT the Use of Pharmaceuticals?
Question by annabisfigola: Can anxiety disorders be beaten WITHOUT the use of pharmaceuticals?
Further to a previous question that ran “Can anxiety disorders be beaten?”, the majority of answerer’s believed yes you can with the help of professionals and the pharmaceutical industry.
I said that hypersensitivity is part of your personality and that because it’s within you you cannot beat anxiety disorders (and I meant WITHOUT the help of a pill everyday), other answerer’s said not to listen to me, because basically, the way to beat any sort of mental disorder is through the use of drugs, .. excuse me but how is this beating or overcoming it, how is this your brain healing itself like the body does when it is injured (as one answerer explained)?
My point being, if you take a pill a day to control your emotional state then this is not your body/brain healing itself. So can you beat an anxiety disorder without professional and medical help, I’d love to hear from people who don’t just pump themselves full of socially accepted drugs such as anti-depressants, sleeping pills, and mood stabilisers, which we all know are making us dependant and the ever growing pharmaceutical industry richer?
Thanks for your contributions so far guys.
I’m glad the word poison was used as that’s basically what all pharmaceuticals are – a short term fix with possibly dangerous and sometimes fatal consequences, i.e. diazepam’s side effects are panic attacks etc, the very reason you take it in the first place – ludicrous.
I also believe lifestyle is important for therapy; lack of minerals in particular, excersize, likewise with vitamin D deficiency and lack of sunlight (SAD), environment and the way you think (self-CBT/learning new ways to cope) are also vital – people just lose hope ask for a pill to cure the ill.

there has been some good research and good results using cognitive behaviour therapy to deal with depression and anxiety. and a lot of people swear by this. it teaches a person a different way of thinking and has been very effective. it depends on the depression really. if a persons depression is due to a lack of Serotonin in the brain then antidepressants such as SSRI’s (selective Serotonin reuptake inhibitors) work well. but if a person can give cognitive therapy a go, the chances of depression and anxiety coming back a lower and the person can put what they have learned in to practice. personally, i don’t think the answer is to keep taking medication which just masks the problem and makes drug companies richer. better to understand where the root of the problem is coming from and be able to deal with it. and have a better result.

please try Omega 3 fish oil. I consider it a vitamin, and for that matter, not really a pharmaceutical. Swallow one during each meal.
