my best friend attempted suicide three weeks ago. psychiatrist said that she is mentally ill and hospitalized her for two weeks (wtf she is a b grader).she is really sweet girl and she never behaved abnormally.she felt very lonely and least loved (reasons behind the attempt ).psychiatrist said that she had chemical imbalance in her brain.once me and my mom went to mental hospital to see her.(we are shocked)she is heavily sedated.she didnt understood what we are saying and she was very weak.(i ended up crying,i couldn’t see her is such bad condition).
those psycho doctors didn’t help her.they just sedating her.(she needs to be treated with compassion).
those doctors are just provoking the patients instead of helping them .
anyway the question is -do you think psychiatrists are harmful to the society ?

my the way for your information there is no link between dopamine serotonin imbalance and behavior problems (so called psychiatric diseases )

No, would you rather your friend dead or drugged? Drugs are powerful and allow time the doctors need to treat a suicidal patient. The brain is way more complicated than you may think. Someone with no history of depression may have what’s called a major depressive episode. In that state they could impulsively kill themselves. So the drugs that sedate your friend are saving her life right now. hopefully she won’t need the drugs soon but for now they are buying her some time.
