FDA panel votes to restrict painkiller drugs such as Vicodin

Trying to stem the scourge of prescription drug abuse in the United States, an advisory panel of experts to the Food and Drug Administration voted Friday, Jan. 25, to toughen restrictions on Vicodin and other hydrocodone products, the most widely used narcotic painkillers in the country.
