DVD Burner WONT Burn DVD’S but Will Burn Cds?
Question by ccs44ca: DVD Burner WONT Burn DVD’S But Will Burn cds?
I have a Sony laptop model: PCG-GRZ660. the dvd/cd burn model is a Toshiba SD-R6012. I am using windows XP with sp2. the problem i am having is the dvd/cd burn will burn cds but wont burn dvds. it will read already burnt cds/dvds and dvd movies. when i put a blank dvd in there is no error but the dvd drive says there is no cd in the drive. i contacted sony about the problem and they just tell me to reinstall the drivers. wich did not work.
they then told me to reformant the computer…wich did not work. everything and anything i do will not fix this problem. i have tryed 3 diffenret types of blank dvds and have tryed using nero, roxio, alcohol 120% to burn with and nothing works.
i have been reading on some forms websites that some people are having the same problem and to upgrade the firmware..
but when i go to update the firmware it gives me an
error saying “could not be found CD-Drive for this
program”.
please help!
