How Types of Alcohol Affects Alcoholism with Dr rodriquez and Delray Center

How Types of Alcohol Affects Alcoholism Many has debated how the different types of alcohol will affect the disease course of alcoholism, some people believe that beer since it’s not a strong as hard liquor or wine is ok really it’s not. Beer has alcohol just like everything else and even though yes it is less strong it can still rather easily creates and promote and propagate a condition of alcoholism. Now that being said, wine is still being worst because it is stronger and hard liquor is worst than wine also because it is much stronger. The stronger the form of liquor the worst the damage on the body and the worst the state of alcoholism becomes. Typically when patients are at their worst they are coming in on hard liquor usually vodka. When somebody with alcoholism graduates to vodka usually they will be in the hospital within a matter of weeks if not months sometimes, just days because it really accelerates the progression of the disease and major complications start happening when they are on hard liquor such as vodka. Again this does not mean that wine is safe or beer is safe is just that wine and beer takes a little bit longer but will still cause the same problems eventually.Raul J Rodriguez MD, a double Board Certified Psychiatrist and Addictionologist, discusses addiction and family history www.delraycenter.com
