Is There a Type of Rehab for Someone Who Just… Can’t Stop Messing Up?

I have a friend who just can’t do anything right if you know what I mean. He’s back in jail today because he didn’t notify his probation officer that he moved outta state. He has 5 children with 3 different women in 3 different states. He doesn’t see them often at all obviously. 2 live in N.C with their grand mother, 2 live in Va with their mother and 1 lives with me here in Ohio. Okay so he’s kind of… more like a boy friend I guess… I have his child but things just haven’t been working out. He’s living back in N.C and has been for about 2 months now and just saw his children last week. Hasn’t seen them in a year. I don’t really know how to explain it. He is the SMARTEST man I know.. he really is. I mean he could very well successfully be the president. He’s that smart. But he constantly lies… about stupid things too like… ask him what he got at the store and he’ll tell you coffee when he didn’t even go down the coffee isle… he bought some damn popcorn! But he also lies about serious big things too… I don’t really want to go into detail. But he lies to everyone… his whole family. And the thing is… he loves his family! He really LOVES his children and he REALLY wants to do good… he just can’t for some reason. I mean… he can… he just isn’t doing it. I don’t know. So what I am asking is… is there some type of rehab for this? I mean… it’s that serious. His family and I want him to get some help but no one knows what to do. Because he’s not on drugs. It sure sounds like he is but I can tell you for a damn fact that he’s not. I kinda wish he was because then we would all have some answers for… why he is the way he is. And I truly believe that would be a more… fixable problem.

In any case… does anyone have any idea on what we can do to help this man? He really needs it. And he’s been to therapists before… even when he was a young teen. Please help us help him. Thank you…
