Kiddos’ Clubhouse Foundation will celebrate this first annual event with a Pre-Race Dinner on October 16 featuring Dick Beardsley, a running legend and motivational speaker. After a successful athletic career including winning several prestigious races and the famous “Duel in the Sun” finish at the 1982 Boston Marathon, Dick has also triumphed over multiple injuries and prescription drug addiction. Dick has become a passionate, inspirational speaker who will be sharing his emotional story of strength, perseverance and hope. The Pre-Race Dinner will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church. Tickets for this event are per person. For more information, please visit the Pre-Race Dinner informational flyer at www.racetorallyhope.com.
Kiddos’ Clubhouse Foundation will also be collecting used sneakers at the Race to Rally Hope to support the GreenSneakers program. This program is a uniquely effective program that impacts people in need around the world. By making used tennis shoes available as affordable footwear in developing countries, GreenSneakers engages in enhancing economic development opportunities through job creation. Shoes are also given to agencies handling large scale disaster and humanitarian relief efforts. All used sneakers can be dropped off at the registration tables on race day. Each donation will qualify for a raffle ticket for a drawing that will take place after the race.
Race to Rally Hope has received donations and sponsorships from Windward Pediatric Dentistry, Shane’s Rib Shack, Harry’s Farmers Market, Graphic Solutions Group, Summit Learning Center and other local businesses. For sponsorship opportunities, please visit www.racetorallyhope.com/sponsors.
