Kids Aim to Run Drugs Out of Town

(PRWEB) May 8, 2003

The War On Drugs has failed as miserably as Prohibition did in the 30’s. DARE has proven to be ineffective in reducing drug use among our youth. Now kids are taking it upon themselves to do something about drug abuse.

This spring kids from New York, Detroit and Tallahassee will take a stand against drug abuse by runnning in the Run Drugs Out of Town Run. Events scheduled between May 17th and June 14th go from a quarter mile run for kids up to a 5k for more serious runners.

Two events are scheduled in New York on June 14th in Woodside, Queens and Central Park. Everyone who finishes wins a medal that says, “I’m a winner, I don’t do drugs” and will have a chance to win a computer.

All proceedes from the event will go to prevention programs in the area.

The Run Drugs Out of Town Run was founded by native New Yorker and now Scottsdale chiropractor, Dr. Bill Gallagher, DC.
