(LAS VEGAS) Can an Employer Legally Fire You for Needing Time Off to Stay in a Rehab Facility for Drug Abuse?

I need a lot of help here…. I’ve been hooked on prescription drugs now for almost 2 years (Doctors put me on pain meds after a car accident and never gave me any warning on/help with getting off them). This also includes antidepressants. This is what more than likely led to a personal devastation AND turning point: I was raped less than 4 days ago.

Now, I’m losing my mind. I’ve become suicidal, I’m losing all of my money, and I’m making my family very sad and I’m ready for it all to stop, despite the knowledge of how much I have to repair once I get out… shouldn’t my employers be supportive? I mean, if I volunteer to get a drug test every month, shouldn’t they be willing to keep me?

Besides all that, can I LEGALLY take FMLA to do this and not share any personal info with them? How can one begin to handle a situation like this???

I just need my job. It is all I have and I’m so grateful for it. I’m just so afraid that my job will be lost because:

-I’m admitting that I’m using drugs in their drug-free environment (although I never come to work messed up)

AND

-I’m needing this sudden time off and still hoping that they would let me keep my job.
