Narconon Italy celebrates UN Day Against Drug Abuse — World Drug Day
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 26, 2009
Joining many other Narconon drug education and prevention centers celebrating the United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26th, some centers have dedicated the week before and after, and more, to a marathon of drug education.
Narconon Ghana, for example, is lecturing to a 1.000 children a day in Accra as well as holding a big rally on the 26th.
Narconon drug rehabilitation centers in San Diego and Newport Beach as well as in Nevada, clients and staff together are volunteering at local soup kitchens for the needy and homeless, and each are contacting their own families to bring home their own personal drug education message.
Italian Narconon centers are blitzing nightclubs and discos to get out the message you can party hard, but safely. They are posting catchy ‘Don’t Drink and Drive’ posters and distributing volumes of drug education booklets.
Russia – Narconon St. Petersburg is hanging a big banner across one of the main boulevards. The Moscow Narconons will also hit the nightclubs and have pre-recorded a television show which will broadcast across the nation. Way out in Siberia, Narconon Krasnoyarsk will deliver drug ed lectures at the city’s Anti-Drug Festival.
In Pakistan, Narconon Hyderabad and community officials held a rally with 350 people to raise awareness about the disturbing area increase in drug use. “Drugs are basically poisons!” they chanted, one theme of Narconon drug education – that all drugs, not just illicit drugs, are fundamentally toxic and, therefore, should be used only with caution and full knowledge of their effects and side effects.
Well beyond this World Drug Day, Narconon centers internationally consider it half of their strategic mission to educate children, young adults, parents, police, government officials, in fact, everyone on the truths about drugs. Many Narconon program graduates, such as Robert Van Der Feyst, director of Narconon Cape Town’s drug ed center, have dedicated their lives to help children learn enough not to repeat their mistakes of the past. Some foundations and corporations, such as Dell Computers with Cape Town, support Narconon’s year round drug education delivery.
