My Hubby Has Alcohol Issues?

Question by taysabug: my hubby has alcohol issues?
He is an alcoholic- has attended AA been to jail— I am at the end of my rope (we have 2 kids) I love him but I am so exhausted form the lies and hurt this has brought on our marriage. Everytime we talk he makes the usual “I know, I need to stop/get help” “I cant believe what a loser dad/husband I am” “I am so sorry I will stop” etc etc etc… the list goes on
would marriage counseling help in this type of situation or should he get help for him first? We have no alcohol in our home rule now- he doesnt do it around the kids….. I am worried for him………and us…. any thoughts??
I have threatened to leave…. and I have left (only for a couple days) each time him promising me it will be different. I know that he is not abusive- or I would be out of there for my babies sake…. and mine. his problem with alcohol is taking him away…. I guess I feel guilty about turning my back on him when he has asked me to help… but I cant- this is something he has to do (am I wrong)

Unless you genuinely love him, save yourself and your kids… leave. Or threaten to leave. If this is a recurring behavior, he needs a reality check.
