New Number 12 Foundation Survey of Under-Age Drinkers Revealed Just 4% Plan Less Drinking in 2011

New York, NY (PRWEB) January 11, 2011

A December 27 to January 11 survey of 234 under-age drinkers revealed that 87% are not planning to drink less in 2011. In fact just 4% have drinking less as a New Year’s Resolution. Yet, 64% of those surveyed know at least one friend who should make drinking less his or her New Year’s Resolution. The Number 12 Foundation, a non-profit foundation with the mission of saving lives and families from the disease of alcoholism and addiction, fielded the survey.

According to recovering alcoholic Jeffrey Christian, founder of The Number 12 Foundation and executive search firm CTPartners, “These results show that the inability of self-recognition of a drinking problem begins at a very early age.”

Survey results of under age drinkers are as follows:

1. Do you intend to make drinking less one of your New Years resolutions?

Yes – 4.0%

Maybe – 9.0%

No – 87.0%

2. Do you know anyone who should make drinking less a New Years resolution?

Yes – 64.0%

I’m not sure – 19.0%

No – 17.0%

3. How often do you intend to drink this year?

Less than once a week – 43.0%

1-2 times a week – 46.0%

3-4 times a week – 6.0%

4+ times a week – 5.0%
