Q&A: Is Depression Truly a Disorder? Depersonalization Key?
Question by anon: Is depression truly a disorder? Depersonalization key?
I’m starting to feel that depression isn’t a disorder, and that NOT being depressed is a true disorder.
People that are depressed feel that they are worthless, etc. In a world full of people, with a seemingly meaningless existence, isn’t this the truth? People that are depressed are simply more self-aware and not delusional.
Anyone who hasn’t been diagnosed with “depression” is simply delusional. I’ve been diagnosed with depression in the severe range and now that I have realized why, it’s not a bad thing for me anymore. And if this in it’s self is a delusion, does it really matter considering everyone else is just as delusional?
Depersonalization is also key. People are always saying if you smoke weed it’ll cure all problems, but I’ve come to the conclusion that weed is just for the weak-minded. So are other drugs that cause hallucinations and such. Sometimes I wake up and can’t remember who I am, and I see things and think things are following me. I get lost for hours in my thoughts… staring at walls or just pacing. Why would I need drugs when I can achieve the same things without drugs? The only drug I’d ever need is alcohol, for the times when I get tired of thinking so much.
I’m much happier and more self-aware because I have ‘depression’, everyone should realize this and follow suit.
Who’s to say those without this so called “chemical imbalance” aren’t the ones that are wrong?
If you truly feel you have any sort of importance, you are delusional. If you aren’t depressed you are delusional.

Depression has to do with a chemical inbalance in your body, so it is a real disease. I have also been diagnosed and when your out of it, it seems dumb all the things that got you so upset, but this is really also involved with that chemical inbalance.
