Question by .: is it illegal for someone to smoke at a bus stop?
there is this one girl that smokes at my school bus stop
and my school has a “no drugs and alcohol on school grounds policy” this includes sporting events. So would it include the bus stop, I have no choice but to either stand 15 feet back and have trouble getting a seat or ruin my health. So do you think that I could complain to the school and they could force her to stop, that girl has no right to damage my health

well the bus stop is far enough that her mom cannot see her, there are also 2 other kids that smoke, and I am not sure about her age, she is a senior in high school and she also smoked during september, so can make her stop or make her pay a fine
the bus stop is in someones drive way so it is private property
are you saying that I should do it in the middle of the street and be risked running over by a car

How can anyone POSSIBLY know what the smoking law in your country is, when you didn’t tell us what country you’re in ? (And if you live in a Federal country, it probably varies by State, too.)

EDIT… “DUHH” yourself… take a look through the questions, why don’t you. You’ll see that there are people from many different countries represented.

YA questions are listed by language, not by the country they were posted from. There is NO WAY for anyone reading your question to tell that you posted it from the USA, and not from Canada, or the UK, or India or anywhere else. If you’re not smart enough to figure that out, maybe you’ve got more important worries than someone smoking at a bus stop.

If it’s in someone’s driveway the chances are slim that there’s a law banning smoking there. There “might” be a local ordinance though – the people who’d probably know best would be the bus operating company. Try calling them and asking.
