Mark Houston, the center’s President, grew increasingly unsettled about the number of patients he saw relapse during his 15-year career at some of the nation’s finest chemical dependency centers. Houston was keenly aware that adult men needed something beyond the clinical environment to truly achieve a purpose-driven life of permanent sobriety.
That’s why the site–both online and the center’s physical site–feel more personal than clinical. The 24 bedroom estate, set on 54 green and manicured Texas acres, looks nothing like its more business-like clinical cousin. Every moment of the 3-month program is designed to achieve the center’s ultimate goal; to help residents develop the life skills and habits of a sober lifestyle,” explains Houston. Houston says that these success habits, such as discipline, financial budgeting, goal setting, leadership, and physical fitness are integral to complete recovery.
