ServerPlex Networks, Salvation Army Unite to Offer Reconditioned Computers to Families in Need
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 23, 2006
ServerPlex Networks (http://www.serverplex.com), a California based Information Technology solutions firm, announced today it has joined forces with The Salvation Army to offer reconditioned computers for underprivileged families in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Beginning today and ending November 20, the company will be collecting new and used personal computers and monitors at its offices in San Mateo. All collected systems will be inspected and, if necessary, repaired by technicians from ServerPlex Networks’ subsidiary company, ServerPlex Onsite — specializing in computer repair and maintenance.
“In today’s Web-oriented culture, it has become increasingly important to have at the very least a working computer at home, but for many that simply isn’t a possibility,” said Robert Marhamat, ServerPlex Networks Business Development Manager. “To say we are looking forward to this tremendous opportunity would be an understatement. There is without question enormous need, and we will be doing everything we can to make a significant difference in our community.”
ServerPlex Networks hopes to collect roughly 400 computers, which will be distributed to families in mid December by the company in conjunction with The Salvation Army.
“The families we help work hard to provide basic necessities their children, like food and clothing, and struggle to make ends meet,” said Claire Dunmore, Family Services Director for The Salvation Army in San Francisco. “They can’t spend money on things like computers, which may seem extravagant, but are an increasingly common and necessary tool to help people move ahead in school and work. We are grateful for the generous staff at ServerPlex for helping to provide such a wonderful gift to these deserving families in need.”
