Should Drugs Be Kept Illegal Because of What It Can LEAD To?

Question by o snap: Should drugs be kept illegal because of what it can LEAD to?
Think of it this way: people on drugs rob people. they cause my taxes to go up, which is harmful to my family.

I know a lot of the violence and such comes from drug cartels and dealers, but individual users also cause havoc in families and in society. Just ask the family members of an addict. I know you might be thinking, “well we shouldnt put people in prison just for possessing drugs (or alcohol)” but people who abuse drugs and alcohol DO things that put them in jail (apart from using).

Also, whats the thing with calling drug addiction a “disease”? You can’t get a disease if you never partake in the first place, so it’s not a disease. I can’t become an alcoholic or a drug addict if I refuse to partake, even if I am predisposed to addiction.

No.

If you get in a car it can lead to your death……….Does it mean it will everytime no.

We have to decide if we want a country that allows people the freedom to fail and make stupid mistakes or if we are going to have some kind of all knowing monolithic government that knows how to run you life better than you do.

To me the choice is clear.

ADDICTION, best short poem about addiction

Poetry by Liliana Kohann, www.lilianakohann.com. This short poem talks about the true face of addiction. In this poem addiction is almost like another person, a creature of its own. Weather it is an addiction to alcohol, heroine, sugar, or even an addiction to procrastination, it slowly becomes more powerful than our given-at-birth instinct to do what is TRULY THE BEST FOR US. If I want to loose weight and I am a food addict, I must look into the eyes of addiction. A weight loss diet, even the best diets won’t do by themselves. Hopefully this short poem about addiction will inspire or encourage someone to make a POSITIVE CHANGE in their lives. Written and Illustrated by Liliana Kohann, recited by Joe Brennan, Liliana Kohann is a singer poet, and illustrator from Poland, residing in America.
