Sufferings Caused by Drug Abuse

The drug abuse among the teenagers arouses the public concern in these days. The teenagers nowadays are more likely to expose to the drug and alcohol, which may arouse the teenagers’ desire to use drug.

One of the consequences of drug abuse is addiction. Some teenagers may start using drug out of the curiosity. But once they start use drug, they will have a stronger desire to the drug. When they get trapped into the addiction, it is hard to get rid of it.

These people may suffer lots from this drug addiction. Drug abuse damages the ability to act as free and conscious beings. The drug users sometimes can not control over their actions. The drug addiction leads to the bad performance which may cause some undesirable consequences, such as loss of friendships, health problems, behavioral problems, alienation of family, and a loss of interest in sports, academics, and hobbies.

Drug abuse also causes brain damage by affecting the way the brain functions and alters its responses to the world. This damage is various depending on the drug. It is unpredictable that how drug abuse affects the behavior, actions, feelings and motivation. But the drug will destroy the natural way the brain functions, thus abusers expose themselves to risks they may not even have expected.

The right amounts of drugs do good to the health. The doctors usually use the drug when treating an illness to make the patient well. But overdose may cause sickness and death. So the drug should be taken following the doctors’ advice.

The teenagers are too young to control themselves. So the parents should exercise the proper supervision on young people to minimize the potential for drug abuses.
