Inmates’ TV choices limited to educational programs
LANCASTER — For the about 200 prisoners housed in the two county jails, television just became more limited — and more educational. Under a new program started by Fairfield County Sheriff Dave Phalen, television for the inmates will be replaced with videos dealing with drug and alcohol education and recovery, along with anger management, tips on finding a job and making life choices.

The first draft of a short video created at the Youth Action for Prevention (YAP) Resource Development Meeting. This video was created by a number of Saskatchewan youth (aged 14-24) to encourage young women to reduce/avoid drinking alcohol during pregnancy. Drinking alcohol during pregnancy is the only cause of FASD, a spectrum of lifelong disabilities.
