You all remember back in early April when Amanda Bynes was arrested in West Hollywood for a DUI after side-swiping a cop car, right? Well, yesterday she was officially charged, and if convicted, People.com says she could face up to 48 hours in jail, three years probation, and a nine-month alcohol program. Amanda could also lose her driver’s license for a year. Amanda still maintains her innocence though, and took to Twitter to speak her mind. She said, “I can’t help but laugh at all of you writing fake stories about me. I was not in any hit and runs. I don’t drink so the DUI is false.” And interestingly enough, she followed that tweet up with a tweet to good old President Obama, and asked him for a bit of a favor. She said, “Hey @BarackObama… I don’t drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end.” I’m not exactly sure Obama has the power, or time, to help Amanda out there, but I guess we can wish her good luck, right?
