What Are/were the Problems With the Chris Jericho vs CM Punk Feud?
Question by The Lord of Darkness: What are/were the Problems with the Chris Jericho vs CM Punk Feud?
Name as many as you want, but I’d rather elaboration and knowledgeable insight.
Some problems that I find:
-Match Predictability: If Jericho didn’t win at Mania, where would he win? Extreme Rules, in Punk’s home town? No. As soon as Jericho lost, he wasn’t winning at all. CM Punk should’ve lost to Jericho at Mania and regained it at Extreme Rules (or even No Way Out if they have a match there).
-Segment/Promo Predictability: This feud has been total garbage and is quite boring. Each week, they essentially argue about “Punk’s father is an alcoholic” “Punk’s sister has substance abuse” “Punk, you will become just like your family” etc, etc. It’s nothing but this every week and is said in a different way. Until he hit Punk with that bottle – that was great! Until they spammed us that segment by either repeating it the next week (may be wrong here) and bringing it up after every ad break.
-Continuation: Punk can’t be intoxicated through alcohol within 12 hours of holding the championship? Better take away the title reigns of almost every big name of the Attitude Era.
Let’s not get into that unfinished “end of the world as you know it” flop.
This whole feud has, to me, been a flop and disappointment.
What about you? What are/were the main problems?

Answer by John Cena The Last Stand
I was like waiting for this feud to start when Chris Jericho returned at 2nd January 2012 and to be frank, the feud was great and enjoyable and their matches at Wrestlemania 28 and Extreme Rules were high quality matches. But every feud must have its problems….
What problems do I find during this feud:
1) Chris Jericho didn’t win at Extreme Rules. Why does Chris Jericho need to win at E.R? To make him the top heel in WWE by defeating CM Punk at CM Punk’s hometown as well as to make Chris Jericho relevant especially about his vignettes about his returns.
2) WWE doesn’t emphasize on the Jericho/Punk’s feud. They are more concerned about John Cena/The Rock and John Cena/Brock Lensar’s issues therefore overshadowing Jericho/Punk’s feud which makes it less relevant as people tend to watch the main feud in WWE so like what I said, overshadowing the Punk/Jericho’s feud.
3) The issue of CM Punk “drunk” on Raw before Extreme Rules was just pathetic. I like CM Punk’s acting but it makes CM Punk looks like a fool when he did the test. Also Chris Jericho asking for the WWE Championship to be awarded to him is not the old Chris Jericho. I look at the replay of the Sobriety Test and shook my head. That test was totally irrelevant to the feud. Doesn’t make any sense in the first place.
