What Is “YOUTH CHALLENGE” in Connecticut Like? Drug and Alcohol Rehab?

My parents are trying to make me go to Youth Challenge in Hartford Connecticut. My friend told me that you can’t smoke there, wear earings, have an ipod, and other crazy rules. He told me it was like a cult. If anyone has been there can you PLEASE tell me what it’s like, a normal day, the rules, etc.
