Why Do Illiberals Deny, That “Death Panels” Are Inevitable Under Government-Run Healthcare?

Question by ????: Why do Illiberals deny, that “Death Panels” are inevitable under government-run healthcare?
Here is somebody asking a provocative question about Death Panels. Notice, how many responses deny, that such panels will ever exist:

One wonders, how could this be denied, knowing what we already do:

1. The cost of care is disproportionally higher during the last 6 months of a patient’s life.
2. Organizations paying for care (be they private insurers or the government) will, inevitably seek to reduce costs.

So, inevitably, at some point somebody will have to decide, whether to continue treating a patient, or to refer them to “End of Life Counseling”. If that decision is not THE PATIENT’S to make, we’ll be lucky, if it will, indeed, be made by a PANEL, rather than by a SINGLE case-worker (like Shirley Sherrod), who may or may not be able to overcome her prejudices and racism.

What’s wrong with calling these deciding bodies — whatever their names, and governing bylaws will be — Death Panels?

I’ve seen Illiberals both claim (somewhat self-contradictory), that a) there will be no such panels and b) that we “already have them” — in the insurance companies. But insurance companies have to compete AND can be sued by the patients or their kin. The Government-run healthcare will, no doubt, be immune to both competition and litigation, and the death-deciding panelists in particular will, likely, be anonymous.

So, again, why do Illiberals deny that such panels — run by the Government — are very much in store for us in the near future?
Common, kids, get out of denial. Yes, the current law is the corporate bonanza — instead of encouraging competition among insurers, it forces us all to buy their existing product. But I’m talking about government-run healthcare in general…

And Harry Reid is already promising voters to add “public option” soon, and, once that is done, all other insurers will get out of the market — because no one can compete with the government’s endless pockets.

So, if it were up to you, Illiberals, we would have government-run healthcare. Along with Death Panels…

Humana is already my “death panel” based on exclusions written into my policy as a small business owner.

You’re just spreading Palin and/or Michelle Bachmann hate/fear rhetoric.

Do some research about Health Care and come back.
