After Reading his book "At Hells Gate", I had the great fortune to meet him in person. His life is a powerful story which can serve as a roadmap for all of us.
From Vietnam to homelessness, drugs and alcohol addictions, to becoming a monk. He travels the world sharing his spiritual odyssey.

Both are from Hope House (affiliated with the Gateway Foundation) in Aurora, Illinois

The Transitional Living Center at Hope House will be forced to close in just a couple months (July 2009?) because of diminished funding. If state legislators approve additional funding soon, the center may be able to stay open; if funding does not improve, many of their clients will be left without access to treatment for their metal health conditions and drug / alcohol addictions…
